It is the year 2516. For years science, religion, and various mythologies have been taken into account with their different lores and stories but one day, approximately five hundred years ago, a group of humans decided to find the true origin of things, for every myth and rumor carries truth, somewhere..or does it?

 

This group of humans called themselves the Edenites. They began tapping into the unknown and exploring the possibility of alternate planes of existence within and around our material world. They began looking at the universe from a new perspective. The Edenites began looking into the use of magic and if it truly existed aside already existing science theory and fact. They refused to just settle on, its unexplainable. They were seen as crazy fanatics and a dangerous cult.

 

Science for centuries has been exploring the unknown, from genetic cloning to time travel and other alternate realities, and ideas. Until the Edenites, much of the stories were merely a science fiction of the 21st century.

 

The physical world was found to be more than meets the eye, more so ever than before. The Edenites established Eden Industries. They investigated everything they could think of or had ever been thought of before. This particular group grew from a few scientists to engineers, teachers, scholars of various sorts, mathematicians, philosophers, almost any person, in any career that thought they had something to find.

 

For the first twenty years they found little beyond what was already known to science, but soon as the group continued to grow they began to dig deeper and deeper into the unknown. Eden Industries spread across the world. One particular group was experimenting and somehow managed to tap into what people thought to be nothing but parlor tricks. They found mana, they found true magic. Perhaps it was another life force or perhaps it had always been there. The Eden Industries found the entrance to a portal that opened into other planes of existence, a magical plane. The governments around the world caught wind of this and all of them tried to claim it for themselves or keep it under lock and key. Wars broke out between the secret agencies and Eden Industries all over who could claim what and what should be known to the public eye. They soon created an alliance which kept most of it under lock and key, the deepest biggest secrets were kept unknown to the public eye. Life went on as it should be but over time leaks occurred through a web of intelligence that was working against the world governments. Creatures known only to stories, myth, and fairy-tale started to be rumored to be about. But while it’s possible some of this was true, what really happened is believed to have been a mutation of the human population of the world, evolution at its best.

 

The first few births were kept hidden and locked behind government doors, but as the new evolution of species began to be more prone to existence it was harder and harder to keep the secret hidden. They lived normal lives and many of them migrated to Neonosa City, which was developed by one a pair of Eden Industries members that felt they needed to protect these people and wanted them to be able to live in peace. That was before Eden Industries grew with various new races and superiority complexes.

However over time the city became more populated and known to the outside world and even those who had no idea what type of city it was started moving in. The future had come. The city looked generally like a normal city however, like any city of the 21st century would with a few advances in the sciences.

 

Governments were shoved out of Neonosa by force over the years and over time it was Corporations, Factions, that ruled the city. Larger corporations started to control the economy. The government once meant to be run by the people, well they were run by the people, in the form of factions and the old ways were dispersed. Of course there were still laws and government like jobs, such as secret agents and fire and police men, but the true question was, who was really paying them? Large faction corporations rule Neonosa, and which one has the most impact at any given time, can change at any moment. It is whoever has the greatest amount of power and influence on the people.

 

With these large corporations tension is an absolute. It may find peace, but behind the doors, that is where the tension is. Nobody truly knows who is ruling them, unless they make themselves known, but most live in peace anyways, so long as they can find a way to be a part of the  future advances. In a life like this, many groups develop over time. Some are said to be the fanatics of the old ways, the others the Eden Industries, others are those who think they can do more to outdo the other corporation.

Think of Neonosa as an American city in the world today but in the future and in its own sci fi cyberpunk, original story bubble. English is the dominant language in Neonosa and there is no dominant race as they are all quite mixed in together in population.
 

Neonosa City looks like a city full of time periods all mixed together. There is high end security like eye scanners and high security around the city as well as an older look of the city in rubble and demise. There is also the in between.  If you are trying to hide it might be best to find a really good hacker. Think of the phrase, 'big brother is watching,' literally. Neonosa City is a place of highly advanced technology in an advanced society with obvious snippets from the past. It really depends where in the city you decide to go. You may find robots, floating billboards, advanced street cams, fast moving trams, sky walks and a congested city of buildings all in different parts of the city, North, South, Central, and Undercity(something hidden, with a few different names icly. The place where criminals truly roam.) You may need your imagination due to sl limitations and prim limits on floating vehicles and other similar things and technology, but they exist in the Neonosa City Universe.
